Some Bentonville stores choose to close for protests

Bentonville Police went around to businesses to inform them about protests planned for Saturday (March 24) and the increased police presence. Some businesses on the square are choosing to close, rather than risk being open.

So far, we know the following stores will close on Saturday:

  • Blue Moon
  • Station Cafe
  • Overstreet’s Jewelry
  • District Salon
  • Handworks
  • Visit Bentonville

All the restaurants near the square said they will be open.

Several other businesses told 40/29 News they were still deciding if they would be keeping their shops open.

Business owners that will be closing told 40/29 News opening is not worth the worry or the sales. They told us they are hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

Other businesses who are choosing to remain open said they wanted to join the community, and if something dangerous does happen, they will have their doors…
